...just don't mix. I got to spend a couple of hours in the ER yesterday afternoon. I jacked up my right shoulder pretty good. Fortunately, I am left-handed, but I'm not going to be able to work for a bit. This is the wrong time of year for that w/ X-mas coming up. Hopefully I won't be down too long. I only tore one ligament and the doc at the ER said it'd probably keep me down a couple of weeks, but I have to go to an orthopedist this week and see what he has to say. Good news is that painkillers kickass!!! :yeah:
Dude! Thanksgiving ER treatments are so much fun! I got to do that last year cuz I got a little jacked up in football...

It is a thoroughly under-whelming story. I was messing around on my g/f's son's bike b/c the clutch (which we just had fixed) wasn't working. So I was on pretty flat land and decided I'd haul ass for a bit. I came up on a really rutted out trail that crossed my route. I couldn't see it until I was right on top of it. I knew there was nothing I could do but hold on and hope for the best. I hit it hard and flipped the bike, with me going over the handlebars. I hit the ground on my right side, primarily my shoulder. Then of course the bike landed on me. That jacked up my knee a little, but not bad. As a natural reaction, I hit the brakes when I saw the trail, but in reality I should have given it gas and gotten the front wheel up. On that short of a bike, it probably still would have thrown me, but I wouldn't have flipped over the bars. Oh well, that's all hindsight now. I'm sitting on hold right now trying to get an appointment with the orthopedist to see what he says.
This was the 1st of 2 trips to the ER for our crew this weekend. On Saturday, my g/f's son got shot in the eye w/ an airsoft gun. He and his buddies had been playing "war". They were done shooting so he took his helmet off and one of the kids decided to get one last shot in, and it hit him in the left eye, on the iris just above and right of the pupil. Pretty serious. They don't think he will lose any or much vision in that eye, but aren't sure yet. Could lose all of it. He is at the pediatric opthamologist right now.

Well, I went to the orthopedic specialist today. Turns out that what the ER diagnosed as a "Stage 1 Separation" is actually a Stage 3. :( That means I completely tore all 3 ligaments that hold my collar bone to my shoulder. And they won't grow back. I should get full range of motion and full strength back in time, but will have permanent bump on my shoulder(b/c the tendons are no longer there to hold the collar bone down in place). I could have that fixed surgically, but it would be only for cosmetics. And I don't see any point in that. Doc said I can do whatever I feel up to doing, and to just use my pain as my guideline. I'm gonna try to get back to work middle of this week on limited duty, if they have anything for me to do. And hopefully *fingers crossed* will be back in the truck by the middle of next week. I just hope the shoulder can take the recoil of a rifle sometime soon. Deer season is wasting away before my eyes.
Holy shit, sorry to hear man.
And, to answer the query..no I don't smoke the ganj. But I do frequently hang out with my friends Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, and Captain Morgan.
