have you ever noticed that customer service ppl don't do anything now, they are just robots with no control what so ever? That or an automated attendant?

today -
call progressive since my motorcycle policy shot up 350 dollars a year even after i confirmed it online. What happened they say? I forgot to sign some paper work they sent to me, and some for auto drafting of my account (like i REALLY want that, incentive based bullshit)
no big deal , lets fix it right? they can't since I m going to be cancelled in a few days (unless i just feel like paying way too much, right now)
ok so can they do anything about it ? no
so i tell them i will just let it cancel and start a new one.
They say that is probably the easiest to do now.

got a letter from MSNIA - thinking this is related to my id theft and a bogus charge. I call them up , it's actually for xbox live trying to renew 4months ago to a credit card i don't have.
no big deal, lets cancel it right?
can't do because i don't know my old email address or last 4 from my credit card. OK WTF am i supposed to do, you sent me a letter but i can't cancel?
then the guy 'helps' me guess at my old email addy, I guess it ....
so he can cancel now, but refuses to remove the charges for this 'year' of charges since it is a subscription.
I tell him I had no idea I agreed to that and why wasn't I made aware of this 4 months ago? He says they email to you if the CC transaction doesn't go through, duh I told him that is a very old address.

So basically they email old addresses they have for the first 4 months then write you to tell you have to pay them since it is a subscription. :funny:

customer service suggested I right corporate as they can do nothing.
Go figure :D

Call me old school but I won't pay for services I don't use. Even if they try to collect . What a scam they are running. you have to agree to all this shit just to use it, then they try to fuck you on the way out. Reminds me of gym memberships.
