Well, it's that time of year again, time to dust off the cars, hook up with some good friends and enjoy the evening spring and summer weather we are so fortunate to have here! The weather for this Wednesday makes it the PERFECT time to start!
Wednesday Weather (http://www.weather.com/activities/recreation/golf/weather/tenday-details.html?locid=75287&dayNum=2)
In all the threads about the GTG posted so far this season there have been 2 themes - More central location to those who frequent it the most and the place needs to have beer! I think we have found the perfect spot.
Come join in the fun at Snuffers in Plano off Park and Preston. Gathering will start at 7 or so in the parking lot just north of the restaurant. We'll head in and eat as everyone gets hungry or the bulk of the crowd shows up.
We have spoken to management, and they are expecting us and welcome the business - we will be welcomed.
Map to Snuffer's (http://www.snuffers.com/locations/plano.html)
Hope to see everyone there this Wednesday night, and hope this new spot really makes a great tradition even better!
Post up if you're planning to come!

LOL! I didn't notice they didn't mark it on the map... it's on the North East Corner. You want to be going North on Preston, the turn in is an 8th mile down past Park on the right hand side if you're going North.
I know not everyone lives up there... I need to get with the Keller Compound crowd and get a second one going... we talked about alternating between a location in the McKinney/Allen/Plano/Frisco area and a location more towards the Airport/Southlake since that seems to be the 2 areas where our members are concentrated. The folks who have been posting in GTG threads attended the old Plano GTG, and those are who requested something more central to where most of us live.
GOOD IDEA... We'll do something about taking donations if folks are inclined.

The statement was:

The statement was:

They frequent it the most because it's on their side of town already.
You've got a cart/horse location issue here. ;)
I think I'll actually show up for that. :D
Roy, Snuffers is pretty damn good, you may actually want to take a Wednesday off for it...;)
And Scott, I agree, a Grapevine/Southlake area GTG would be a good idea, it's one of the most central locations in the metro area. Plenty of parking lots/restaurants there, too.

It may be a great place but that's well over 50 miles one way from my house. In weekday traffic, that's 3 hours on the road and at least $15 worth of high octane gas for me.

There will never be a way for everyone to be happy. We have had experience with GTGs in the Plano area and the turn out is good. We have heard the need for another location and that is in the works. If Plano isn't good for you, then sorry we won't see you out there.

Yeah. I've resigned myself to that. With people spread out as much as they are, it's hard to get everyone together. There just isn't much going on out on this side of town (with the notable singular exception of the big Hooters thing on Sunday)
We've got the same problem in my 4x4 club. We've got people from The Colony to Aledo all trying to get to our monthly meetings. Each time we talk about relocating the meetings, someone's complaining.

It started getting past her bed time and she fell outside and bit her lip and stayed cranky, so we needed to get her home. Sorry to just run off like that, but I'm not a big fan of the crying baby in a restaurant, lol.
When you got your sandwich though Scott, she kept pointing at it and saying "bite"... I had to hold her back from taste testing it for you haha!! :D
