When did AOD make the scene?

What year did ford start putting AOD tranies in cars and trucks? What was the last carb'd 302 with a C-4? With an AOD? Thanks.

i think you mean AOD...(automatic overdrive as opposed to America Online...jk)

they had a cross over period.. especially for the c6 in ford trucks where over drive was an option up to the early 90's. I think aod started as an option in 1986, although I have seen things like AOD's in Vans from 81-82. wiether or not they were original I don't know.

AODs were made from 1980 to 1993.
Last AODs with carbed engines were in 1982.
C4 were still available as late as 1986 in trucks but the motors were EFI.
