I have a 40A fused line going to the fan relay in my V8 RX-7 with stock Trans-am '01 fans. Whenever the ECU tells the fans to go on only one fan turns on and there is a slight dim in the cabin as it turns on (is this normal for a car idling and having the fans turn on?). Right now I am suspecting the other fan's motor is broken but is still drawing current since a 30A fuse breaks whenever the fans initially turns on. Has anyone had experience with this? How much current do the fans draw on startup and what is the stock fan fuse rated at in a trans-am? In addition, is the car driveable with only one fan kicking in for the moment while I look at getting the other motor replaced? The radiator is a Griffin aluminum radiator so it should cool very well.
