Hello everyone! I just thought I would post and introduce myself (virtually). I'm not much of a mechanic and my car is slow (faster67 can attest to that), but I'm learning!

Anyway, on to my technical question:

I'm definitely going to ditch these GT40Y heads as soon as I am financially able. I have been reading a lot about the AFR 165s and I like what I see. What should I take into consideration with my combo when choosing a head, and what do you guys think will be best choice? Also, how much should I be able to sell the GT40Ys for?

Thanks!

Nice to see you here Eric. From what I've been hearing the AFR's are sweet. I know a few guys running them, and a couple who have them, but haven't put them on. I think I'm going to go with the 185cc AFR heads. Since the seem a bit better on the forced induction.

Most Aluminum heads flow the same right out of the box. So choose something you'd be happy with.

Hey Eric, glad to see you around! Well you can't go wrong with the AFR 165s but ported AFR 165s would be even better. http://www.torquecentral.com/tc_forum/smile.gif I have been looking around for a stock engine so you can tear your longblock down and figure out what the problem is. It only takes an afternoon to swap it. http://www.torquecentral.com/tc_forum/biggrin.gif I honestly feel the car would be much faster if you swapped your cam and intake onto a totally stock longblock. I haven't totally given up on your engine yet. I still have a few ideas but I like to think toward the future. http://www.torquecentral.com/tc_forum/smile.gif
JUICED89LX: Yes, that is the same Eric that I took up to Friendly with me.
Silverback: He's the guy that owns the house in The Colony. Hello Bunkle Matt and thanks for letting me stay there.
Crack Head Jed: Stay away from Jared and his purple Ranger. No matter what happens, don't ever say you'll buy him lunch because he can eat and eat and eat and eat. Be afraid.

If & when you decide to sell your heads, let me know. Would you be selling them complete?

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

faster67: Just for clarification.. it only takes YOU an afternoon to swap an engine... http://www.torquecentral.com/tc_forum/biggrin.gif On the other hand, it takes me a few days! http://www.torquecentral.com/tc_forum/redface.gif

Kris_dfwstangs: It's not a question of IF, but when. Probably late May; that's the earliest I'll have any money (although thoughts of using plastic are rolling through my mind)... The heads will be assembled (complete) and I *may* let the FMS 1.6 rockers go with them. By May they will probably have right under 10k on them. I'll let you know!

Also, I just got some pictures of my car up at http://www.cox-internet.com/highlander/

Thanks!
