Thanks for the good info Silverback! One thing I thought was kinda wierd is that it said the GT will get the 4.6 w/285 horses and an optional 4.9 w/290. I hope they do not try to chagre to much extra for the 5hp that 4.9 is producing. They might shoot themselves in the foot...

All in all you guys have alot better news than us F-bodies! We are still unsure about 2002 productions! http://www.mbaskett.com/z28/ubb/frown.gif

It would be just like GM do something like that! Can you say 2004 Camaro FWD V6 http://www.mbaskett.com/z28/ubb/mad.gif

Atleast ford knows what the consumer wants!

Anybody else find this a tad concerning ..

The GT will continue to use the 4.6 2V, but it will get a bump in power to 285 horses @ 5250 RPM.
An optional 4.9L GT 2V will be an all optional engine for 2003. The 4.9L will produce 290 horses @ 5250
RPM.

4.6 - 285
4.9 - 290 LOL

Yeah, Joel, that was one of the first things that caught my attention... But then again, this is a new engine, so i guess they are going to release both, and see how it goes over, and runs before they completely stop the 4.6 production.

On another note, I was watching Car and Driver, and at one of the big car shows, Pontiac showed, two new cars they were working on... One was an all wheel drive Gran Prix with the LS1 in it.. and the other was the Silverado SS, full C5 drive train including IRS.. looks a little gay, but all in all sweet idea.. Especially since the Lightning is getting a horsepower bump so 385 or so..

Good luck F Body guys http://www.torquecentral.com/z28/ubb/biggrin.gif
