Does anyone know of any electronic device that allows the car to launch at certain rpm?
(not transbrake)

I think the device is called "delay box" like this one (http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=517&prmenbr=76&lastcat=2392).
Just wonder if anyone have seen it worked at the track before I spend ~$400 for it.

Why would you want to set it to launch at any rpm other than redline? We could just have lever you throw that goes WOT http://65.68.63.130/tc_forum/smile.gif
You might want to see if Jacobs Electronics has one too. Thats an awful lot of money just to hold the rpms in a certain place. You think your hand control could be rigged with a notched stop that you could push past?
Does your car have TCS/ASR ? We might could rig somefin' http://65.68.63.130/tc_forum/smile.gif

W/A4, you can't launch at redline. Right now w/ linelock, I'm able to launch at around 2000rpm or lower; any higher the front wheels start to move (red-lighted).
The problem is w/ the hand control rod that goes to the brake. It doesn't push the brake completely to the floor so the linelock is not fully locking the front brakes.
I've been long thinking of switching to another set of hand control like this one (http://www.drivingaids.com/Driving_Aids_Development_Corp._Products.html) which is about $500.
W/ the Yank ST 3500 stall, I should be able to stall up and launch at around 3000rpm and get a better 60'.

I hear ya on the redline thing... I was just kidding http://65.68.63.130/tc_forum/smile.gif
have you try pumping the brake? You should be able to do that, even with the line lock.
Thats actually kind of scary if you can't get the brakes all the way to the floor... might be worth it to get the new rig.

The delay box you speak of works in conjuction with a trans brake. It allows you to leave on the 1st yellow light and delays the engagement of the transbrake. You can also adjust it for how the car reacts and for changing weather conditions. What you want is a MSD two-step rev limiter. You set it up to have one limit on the starting line and one during the run. They also have three-steps http://65.68.63.130/tc_forum/redface.gifne for burnout, starting line and during run.I don't know how this would work w/ eight coils on stock ignition though. You probably would need an ignition box like an MSD digital 6 or something. If you stage with the line lock you could activate it when the line lock is on.
