Despite problems from the weather, dealing with the time change and broken vehicles, Torquecentral.com’s TMCCC racing team put forth an excellent showing this weekend. Everyone deserves a big thumbs up. We started the day with gloomy overcast skies, which actually spit forth enough light sprinkles to shut down racing a few times during time trials and the first elimination round. Thankfully the rain disappeared after that.

Poor Shawn Salazar (Saladbar) lost a skinny on the way to the track. :( Thankfully with some help from others on the team, he was able to get new lugs and make it to the track in time for the second round of time trials. :) Ray (rw’z28) was well on the way to winning another elimination round when he earned the new title of Mr. Bent Pushrods, by missing a shift to 4th. :( Thankfully he was able to get the car home and running again, granted not at full strength right now.

We had several racers earn new personal bests in the quarter: Chad (CFHZ28), Chris (Bad Mojo), Allen (Quick496), Donald (DMcRacer), Justin (goober) and Larry (02Formula). I don’t think anyone as quite as excited as Larry however, who knew the Peruvian could be so animated. ;)

We had several new people racing with us at this event as well as some old favorites returning. A big warm welcome and welcome back go out to Keith Overturf and his family, his friend Mark and his family, Shawn Salazar, Donald, Ken Cryder’s friend Ron, Justin and Donald’s friend Eric. Hopefully they all had a good time and will enjoy racing with us again. :D

We finally regained our previous momentum, getting more than 50% of the racers past the first round of elimination, 14 out of 22,. :yeah: A big round of applause goes to Brent (Avalanche) for winning the semi-finals in the King Muscle class and Frank (69bigblock) for taking the win in the Pro Muscle Class.

Unoffically we earned 59 points at this event. Ron Dillinger, the coordinator of TMCCC indicated that he thought the roaming trophy would go to one of the four teams that had the highest number of cars show up and we are one of those four teams. :yeah:
