when i enter my name there and hit submit modifications, it just comes back as blank again

There sure is quite a discussion about this field on the vbulletin.com site!....

Anyway, I've learned that you have to enter in your Hotmail account that's associated with your MSN Messenger ID. :shrug: I tried it with a fake hotmail account and it worked....

I honestly don't know. Apparently there is some very heated/conflicted discussions about this one particular field even being part of vbulletin in the final release, because MSN Messenger does not have a webintegration capability like Yahoo and ICQ... so it's very difficult for the vb developers to authenticate this...

Needless to say, I don't know, but it's still on the 'Open Issues' list for the vbulletin team to come to a final decision on the hows and whys of it's functionality... :shrug:

that might not be a problem since it is suspected that MSN messenger is going to pay for use (instead of being free)
