Alrighty here it is...

I live in ABQ, NM where the altitude at the track is 5800 feet.

My list of mods are as follows (02 WS.6)
Whisper Lid
K&N Air Filter
TR MAF ends
Bauer Ported TB & Bumpstop Mod
!TB Bypass
!Baffles
MAFT
TR-55 Plugs
MSD wires
SLP Y-Pipe
Cutout
SLP springs
Bilstein Springs
BMR STB
BMR LCR
BMR LCA
Pro 5.0 Shifter
Harlan Shiftlight (set at 6100 rpm)
MT E/T Streets

My best time with those mods was 13.6@104

I added a cam (216/.587/114) and springs (918's) and my best time was 13.41@106.1 .... I expected A LOT better with the cam than just .2 seconds!!! Anyone have any ideas on why so little improvement???

Readings from later on that night revealed Air Denisty at 8100 feet. I also took some O2 readings and I was running .938 at WOT. The timing was at 29.8 with no knock retard.

Any opinions and analysis are appreciated.

Looks like you have the foundation for a very solid performer.

Can you please tell me about your 60 foot times?

Also, your new cam makes mroe power on the top, so you need to shift accordingly.

In the 8th, I picked up 2 thents by shifting at 6400 rather than 5900. (My cam makes power to 7K)

I point at the 60 times as it is very hard to launch on ET Streets on an 6 speed car.

For best results, you have to dump the clutch at 4,5, or 6 K.
Otherwise you bog.

Of course, this on a stock 10 bolt is not recommended. (Specially if you have a good clutch)

Let us know if you are bogging off the line, or are you smoking the tires.

Add a 12 bolt, a McLeod clutch, 3.73s, and hold on for dear life

Also .938 NA is kinda rich. Trim things down with your MAFT. (maybe a couple of clicks on the WOT dial)

I was launching at 5500+

Tires would chirp and then the car left pretty solid.

60's were about the 2.0 mark on my best run I had a 1.98 60'

As far as shifting goes ... I initially started shifting at 6400 which were getting me consistant 13.62's ... moved the shift point down to 6100 and I gained 2 tenths??? What's up with that???

Please tell me you have a 12 bolt and a good clutch.

Wow, this is weird.

You may be going pig rich on the top end.

No 12 bolt or clutch mods ... that's stock. I know I'm tempting fate, but...

Anyhow just got a tune in from diablo sport. now 02 reads .888 all the way thru and i'm holding 33.8* timing with no KR.

How much should that help???

I really outta spend some time on the dyno, but I just have no time right now...

The altitude is going to hurt... no doubt about that... lemme see what that would equate to at 0 altitude

I went here:

http://www.modulardepot.com/density.php

and plugged in your time/trap and guestimated the other so that the Density altitude came to 8103 (since you mentioned it was 8100 that night)

Here's what I put in
Temp 85
Humidity 70
Track Alt 5800
Pressure 30.85
ET 13.6
Trap 104

I got a corrected value of 11.96@116.52

I would say that's pretty dead on for what you had.... :yeah: You're really hurting from the altitude out there .....

Make a trip to Ennis or HRP and run at or near sea level and I think you'll be happy with your times!

When you look at it like that, it makes a difference. :-)

YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOU THROTTLE BODDIES, AND PUT IN BIGGER INJECTORS. NOT HAVEING 3.73 GEARS IS KILLING YOU.
NEXT YOU NEED TO DO SOME HEAD WORK.

What throttle body do you suggest??? I'm running a Bauer ported TB now ... :dunno:

Also, I was under the impression that stock injectors were fine for a mild cam like mine.

Will the 3.73's help that much over the 3.42's I have now ...

The stock TB is fine. Also, being an 02, you have the 28# injectors which are fine.

Gears will help, but the problem is that the 3.73 gears have much less meat on them thanthe 3.42s. (4.11s are even worse)
If you are going to do gears, get a 12 bolt.

How do you shift your car? You are leaving time on the table somehow.
I think the clutch may be slipping some.
