First off I’d like to thank everyone who braved what looked like it was going to be horrible weather to race today. Secondly I’ll say I told you so when I said we would end up with a beautiful day for racing. ;) As a team Torquecentral.com Racing kicked butt. :yeah: Welcome to all the first time racers. I hope you had as much fun as we veterans did and will continue to join us at future events.

We started the day with 27 racers. Sadly we had one racer not make it through time trials. Hopefully Pat can get that steering column fixed quickly. Out of 27 racers who made it through time trials and into the first elimination, we had 16 make it into the second elimination. We had 6 racers make it to the Quarter Finals, Willie aka Scrappy and Charles (Larry’s brother on his first time out) in the Stock Muscle class. Willie went onto the Semi Finals where he was eliminated but received a plaque. Ray aka rw’z28, Joel aka Jammin Joel, James_2002SS aka James and Tim aka Timmeh made it to the Quarter Finals in the Super Muscle class. Speaking of the Super Muscle class, our shining four took all four spots in the Semi Finals. :yeah: Tim and
Ray were our Semi Final winners with James coming in second overall. A round of applause for Joel for winning the Super Muscle class. :yeah: Several people who broke out ended up setting new personal bests for the 1/8 mile, so while that’s bad for the team it’s great for the individual. :D

Let’s continue our winning streak into our next even which is at Hallsville on Saturday, April 26, 2003.

Unoffically we earned 67 points at this event. :D

Econodrag ran for us in regular eliminations and in the Race of Champions. Sorry Econodrag, but I don’t have your times. :(

We also had a young man with a grand national (very nice car) running with us, but sadly I’m horrible with names and cannot remember his name. :(

LO! I edited this post. I ran in King Muscle... -YYZ28
Scott, that's what I get for not checking the copy/paste better.

Hey Ken, I'll post up the armadillo picture this evening!

Cinder

Well, I sucked, lost both 1st round tries..... :(

Ran 9.95 twice in trials, set dial-in to 9.90 just to be a bit conservative and ran a 10.06 in ROC. Adjusted my dial in up to 9.95 and I ran a 9.93, go figure. I gotta quit out thinking myself.

Had a great time regardless and it was fun meeting more of the TC crazies. I should have the pics I took up soon, probably this afternoon and I will try to have the vids I took transferred to PC asap and then get them edited. I should at least have a copy of the vids on VHS by the GTG on Wednesday.

So according to the sign over the door in the pic above, smoking is only encouraged if it is in close proximity to the building?

Cute armadillo :)

I had a great time as well just watching and cheering everyone on.. I'm really proud of all you guys.. but I have to say I'm especially proud of 4 people...

Tim, Ray, James, and Joel
In the end they all had to run each other and when it came down to it, Joel won and I'm very happy for him (cause it's my car ;) ) but I'm EXTREMELY proud of the way you guys all worked so hard to get there and then shook hands and clapped just as loud for each other when you got your plaques. That says a lot about this club that we are there for each other and for the team instead of just who's the best. I think that says alot about us that other people respect and THAT is why I think people keep joining us from other places.

I'm really looking forward to the next event... I hope to see everyone there and hopefully I'll have my new shoes then  *mischevious grin*

Yeah, Joel beat me, but I got a new best time, and that makes it okay!

I swear, if I can learn to drive consistently, I'll be more competition next time!

04-07-2003, 08:12 PM
Oh yeah.. duh I forgot he ran you too!! :) Oh well if you have to get beaten always do it with a bang!! I remember your face when I told you your time.. your mouth literally dropped open :)

Awesome job Nolan.. was nice to see you again.. you always add some fun humor to the day :)
